Curriculum Framework

The MYP Curriculum emphasises the importance of communication, intercultural awareness, and global engagement as essential components to creating future global leaders.

  • At DIA, subjects taught through the MYP programme encourage students to make connections between subject areas and discover how to self-manage and organise themselves through the Approaches to Learning continuum.

  • These subjects include - Language & Literature, Language Acquisition, Mathematics, Sciences, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Physical &. Health Education, Digital Design, Personal-Social-Health Education.

  • Through the implementation of eight subject groups, students learn how to take an active role in their learning and exemplify the IB Learner Profile.

  • Students learn to explore bigger ideas through Global Contexts - linking learning to real-life challenges, our common humanity, and the shared guardianship of the planet, as well as through Service & Action.

Learning in the MYP

Through the MYP, DIA promotes interdisciplinary learning and supports students to make connections between subject areas. Students take an active role in their learning as well as discovering how to self manage and organize themselves through links in each subject area.
