PYP Curriculum Framework

The PYP curriculum empowers students as agents of their own learning. It prioritises people and their relationships to build a strong learning community.

  • At DIA, the subjects taught are vital in shaping well-rounded, confident learners who can understand connections in their learning and exemplify the IB Learner Profile.

  • These subjects include - Transdisciplinary Inquiries, Language Arts, Language Acquisition, Mathematics, Sciences, Physical & Health Education, Personal Social Health Education, and Information Communication Technology.

  • The DIA programme of inquiry reflects our unique community of learners and is organised around themes like - who we are, where we are in place and time, how we express ourselves, how the world works, how we organise ourselves, and sharing the planet.

  • Students engage in meaningful inquiry and learning by exploring significant issues through carefully designed units. Each unit of inquiry revolves around a central idea relevant to these themes, while also incorporating specific subject areas to enhance understanding.

Learning in the PYP

Through the PYP, DIA offers authentic learning experiences that are linked to real-world experiences/challenges. Students are given the opportunity to problem solve and critically think, as well as take meaningful action in our community as well as in a more global context.
